  • Not your typical mahjong day

    Dear Chibi,

It’s been a while since I’ve played some mahjong with some newies, so I invited a few interested friends over to learn/play/chill on the weekend =)

Shortly after their arrival and a bit of chit-chat, our hunger took over so we ordered some pizza. While waiting, we started to refresh their memory on the game and started explaining all the basics and goals. It’s not a very complicated game, since I understood it when I was about 6-7, but it still requires skills, a sprinkle of love and a touch of luck. I play it mainly for the love and excitement  I get anticipating my next draw, and of course being ambitious for some big wins.

Jacky mentored Ray while I was responsible for teaching MZ. MZ learned a few things today, like reading 1-9 in Chinese characters! woohhhooo! lol Next time he’s gonna learn to say all the characters in Cantonese, and learn the “random” tiles ^^

After a little practice, MZ and Ray both learned to say “Serng” and “Pong!” Except Ray kept saying “Sec”(win) when he wanted to “Serng”- Ray, that scares me =p

Ray may LOOK normal, but he’s holding Lemon-honey tea there ;)

Team B: The Imitators, we like to tease the sicklies  (we weren’t sick, honest!)

So, who was the better player……..? *drum rolls………….*

ME! ahaa! According to who? Me of course! XD  In the 4-5 hours of Mahjong we all managed to make some wins! Very proud of both MZ and Ray, they both made huge progress :)
Unfortunately, Ray’s little sore throat in the morning turned into a full-blown cold by the evening, so we decided to have a break. Ray took a little nap while Jacky and MZ started playing some shooting games on the wii.

Afterwards we had Mum’s home-cooking for dinner..mmm… I was a bit surprised by the amount the guys ate, actually. I wonder how they can fit that much into their stomachs? ^^; I guess that’s normal for guys? lol

Anyways, I had a really great time :) Hope they enjoyed themselves too.

Sounds like a fun time =D. If you weren’t really sick, isn’t it really uncomfortable having to wear that XD?

      • Chibi says:

lol, I’ve never worn one before so I thought I’d do it for the fun fun anyways! It was a bit hard to breathe in actually, but it kept my face pretty warm at least ^^

very proud of my student Ray who picked it up very quickly and remembers the strategies i taught him. MZ did a mad job too. I had to use 7% of my full power but i underestimated chibi, she had the most wins…i knew i shouldve used 7.1%….

    3. Ray says:

Kya! Thanks for having me over. I will be there again in an instant, sunshine, rain, hail, or even sick. Probably.. not the sick bit, because next time if it happens, i’ll give a preemptive notice. Thanks for taking care of me too =D You’ll make such a great mum one day.

You’ve inspired me to learn Majong! Now… where’s a school!!!

      • Chibi says:
