Dear Chibi,

In todays episode, Chibi, Jacky, Kat and Kaz headed over to Circular Quay for some Oz Jet Boating Action! It was quite an adventure =D Today also happened to be one exceessively windy day, so cold and windy it was! The ride was thrilling and exciting- as expected, though Chibi didn’t realise just how wet she was going to end up.. XD Thank goodness for the raincoats! The raincoat she wore was really big, so big that she tripped twice- once getting onto the boat, and once getting off it. The good thing about it was it gave her good coverage since it was so long; the bad thing was that if she wore the hood, she wasn’t able to see anything. Most of the time it was blowing in the wind..lol. The ride was rather bumpy a lot of the times, and with every bump, Chibi’s legs flew off the ground (No effect on Jacky for some reason…). If it wasn’t for the seat belts she would’ve fell into the water. She bruised her leg in the process ’cause her legs knocked into the pole >_< There was another time when her head smacked into Jacky’s shoulder..ouch did that hurt… ow.

Soooo..apart from getting a big bruise on the leg, and losing many many of Chibi’s intelligent brain cells, she had an awesome time :D Fast forward 2 hours and the four of them were in Ramen Kan eating away with content ^-^ Ah, what a day.. the weather was quite nice except for the wind, lol. Can’t complain though..it didn’t rain and there was nice sunshine-seems like it’s gonna be a lot colder in the week ahead.

Dear Chibi,

Yay, it’s Friday – the end of the short week! To finish it off awesomely, Flora and her family invited Jacky and I over to her place for a really big and yummy dinner! Wow, we feel loved XD This food was absolutely delicious, especially the sushi- it was so nice and fresh! After the main there were 3 dessert serving too, haha. I was, without doubt very full by the end of it all…

Flora’s mum said to pass the “test” we had to eat a lot of the food- however, if you eat TOO much you also fail XD I passed! Which means there’s a chance I’ll be invited over again in the future for some special treat ^^ wheeeee…

Jacky and I spent our long weekend up at Port Stephens :D It was my first and his third time there, and despite a worrying rainy outlook, it didn’t rain at all =D yaaaaayy!

Dear Chibi,

Recently I’ve been working on my newly launched comic blog: MoonSticks- Fun, short and sweet Sailor Moon Comic Strips. It’s going well so far and I’m up to comic #3. It’s going to be updated once every Friday which leaves me some time during the week to think of ideas and to put it together. It’s been fun so far, but I must admit, it’s a little stressful coming up with ideas! haha.. and I only started it too. I’ll try my best though =) Please take a moment to visit if you haven’t already, it would make me really happy :D

Now, other happenings…I mentioned in an older post that I entered this blog into WPwebhost’s WordPress Design contest (Hand-Drawing Style Category)- and it got shortlisted in the top 10, yay. The voting has begun so please vote for Dear Chibi *cough*shameless-plugin*cough* XD I’m quite happy with this theme, so it was good fun putting it together :)

Day light saving has ended last week, which is sorta depressing! Sure, we get an extra hour, but now it’s so dark (and scary) walking home from work each night o_o The good thing about Autumn though is that there’s less chances of cockroaches/insects running about! The sad thing is, it’s essentially WINTER all year round in the new office, since there’s blasting cold air conditioning on all the time! Why? And..why does Day Light Saving have to end? hm? Please explain to Chibi the logic behind it.

Anyways, Happy Easter everyone!! Enjoy the lovely long weekend =D

Dear Chibi,

Jacky organised for the group of us to head down(?) to Berrima for a Vegetarian buffet at Zen Oasis- a vegetarian garden restaurant ! It was fabulous!  We left Jacky’s place around 10.20am and got there exactly at 11.30am in time for the meal =D It looked like it was in the middle of no-where, it was just this one restaurant in the middle of the bush! That made it really awesome though :3 haha.

When we first went in, the guy said to Jacky “Please pay at the counter, and the rest of your family may be seated at the table” lol, the family comment sparked quite  a lot of jokes for the day. This is now our  “family”, which we agreed is an Asian one XD

Halil + Matty – Our “family friends” LOL. We concluded they were  a bit more distant  (non-Asians, lol), and only occasionally turn up to functions XD

Dear Chibi,

Some people notice things straight away, for others, it may take a little longer- or a lot longer. Different things for different people. It’s like in some Chinese drama, where it takes an evil character 40 episodes to realise his thinking was wrong.

Lemme tell you a story. I bought myself a monitor several years ago, and ever since then, I’ve stuck with the 1600 x 900 screen resolution. I thought nothing of it. I stared at it day and night, through uni and into work life, did everything on it- surf the net, photoshop, draw, design webpages etc etc. Then suddenly, on one fateful day, a few cofa people were over and pointed out ‘Your photos look stretched’. It startled me. o_o? ‘What do you mean it’s stretched?’ I observed more closely, and still wasn’t quite convinced. Nothing seems wrong with it. I mean, how can anything go wrong when it’s always been this way? Since then, I kept it in the back of my head somewhere, but for most part just continued on like I normally did.

Then a little while ago, Kaz commented that everyone looks really skinny in this photo. Really? Was it a Photoshop pixel aspect ratio setting I needed to change? @_@?

Again, I couldn’t figure out why it’s wrong. I played with Photoshop a bit and couldn’t see the problem.

Then today, at work..the issue was raised again. A colleague asked me to show her a certain image, which I opened up. It happened to be Channel 10′s logo- it was round, yes.  I happen to have the same screen res at work because I SET IT UP, lol. She immediately said “That’s not round! That’s an oval!” I was in disbelief. How is that not round? I asked my manager to come have a look, and she also said the same thing “that’s an oval….’ I was speechless. Yes, sadly, I took out a ruler and measured the circles diameter and realised the height was 2mm more than its width. JEN GOT PWNED!!! XD XD XD

Defeated, I went home and played around with the display settings and found the meaning of perfectness at 1680 x 1050.

EVERYTHING ON SCREEN IS PIXEL PERFECT. I LOVE IT!!!!!! The fonts are so clear, so concise.. so beautiful T.T.. I have been missing out all this time!! I feel as though I’ve just bought myself a new montior.. or my eye sight has improved *hugs monitor* I can’t stress anymore how much I love the screen and want to stare at it more than I already have.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! Jen, why are you so ever slow? ;_;

P.S It’s kinda sad looking at some of my illustrations now.. everything is wider than I had intended T_T
