Dear Chibi,
Happy Aussie Day, and Happy Chinese New Year!! =) As they happen to be on the same day this year, it means I get to have Chinese New Year off work!
I spent the Lunar Year Eve playing Japanese mahjong with Jacky and Markos since it’s something we just love to do (and something we did last year too, except Kaz was here). It’s quite entertaining, and we can kinda test our luck. Markos was very very lucky! He won by quite a bit, leaving Jacky with negative points, and me with a little bit left. The early next morning we decided to play again! Markos was just as lucky ^^; Jacky made a little come back near the end, and I guess I wasn’t quite so. lol I’ll blame the fact it was only half a game. *cough* Still fun fun nevertheless!
Around 1pm, I drove to Jacky’s place for..the first time in my life XD This would probably sound really really weird, but even though we have been dating for almost 2 years, I have never driven Jacky anywhere, nor have I driven to his place- I was always the passenger. Well, time for some change! I actually did a good job! yay, go me the Green P plater. XD
When we got to Jacky’s place, his family was playing Mahjong too! Except they’re naughty and gamble XD Jacky played a round or two and lost $1. XD
It was quite an enjoyable long weekend :) Hope everyone got lots of lucky red pockets! Gong Hei Fat Choi!

Dear Chibi,
I have uploaded the Happy New Year 09 New + Best Selection Album for all those celebrating Chinese New Year!
These songs are all in canto (apart from the Gong Xi Gong Xi song) Hope you like it!! =D These songs are actually rather catchy. Some of the artists are deliberately making themselves sound ‘silly’ so don’t freak out when you hear some weird singing voices, hehe!
Download: Complete Album (EEG Artists) (71mb)
Download: I have picked out a few classics from the above album.
Track 4 (Various).
Track 6 (Yumiko Cheng/Isabella Leung).
Track 8 (Twins – 668) (Remix)
New Year Compilation 09 (They used classic Chinese New Year songs and changed the lyrics- they mentioned wishing the economy all the best, referring to the recent recession)
Gong Hei fat Choi! =)
How many of these songs do you know/can sing to?

Dear Chibi,
Yesterday Jacky and I attended his cousin’s wedding held at the Chinese Garden of Friendship, followed by the reception at the Star Room in the IMAX Theatre.
The day, was, as most people would have experienced, excessively hot! Reached 40 degrees over there XD Oh my! We just tried to stay cool… but what a day of heat. I couldn’t really complain since I was wearing a dress and not a suit, lol. We could see quite a few men with a wet back..
Soon, the ceremony began and the bride walked down the aisle with her father. Sylvia was soo pretty in her dress :) The only unusual part was there wasn’t any music playing? hm? They did have a CD player though (which they never end up using). Well anyways, I’ve never been to a wedding before so it was all rather exciting :) Sure, I’ve seen it on TV and movies but it’s a different feeling in real life. I’d say it was much more touching and romantic, especially when they exchanged their wedding vows :3 I’m sure they’ll have a bright and loving future together~

After some snaps and light snacks/finger food, Jacky and I headed home to get ready for the reception later in the evening. It was still, very hot and the weather didn’t change at all. Oh wells, at least it didn’t rain! The funny thing was, after we got changed and headed back there- it was very very very windy!! We couldn’t decide which weather was worse, the super hot weather, or a super windy weather. Normally I’d say a super windy weather is better since it’s cooler, but not very good for certain occasions such as this :P Nevertheless, we reached the IMAX theatre shortly and realised the wind didn’t do too much harm, lol.
The Star Room was quite nice.. it had a really nice atmosphere :) Jacky and I were on table 4 with his other cousins and their partners. Then came the newly weds, and of course the food. The groom gave a short thank you speech and that was that. I would have thought the bridesmaid or others would give a speech too but I guess they ditched that idea. Afterwards we went on the dance floor and just enjoyed the relaxing evening. Towards the end, it was the cutting of the wedding cake, played some wedding games, and lastly the throwing of the bouquet. This was a bit weird ^^; Firstly, there weren’t actually many single ladies to begin with…since his cousin’s friends etc would most likely be married already since they’re around the same age bracket, or older. Secondly, she didn’t end up throwing the bouquet very far and it didn’t even reach the girl closest to her! Thirdly, none of us actually went for it. No moving around, no shuffling, or jumping. We just stood there, the bouquet went flying (not very far), it landed on the ground, then the lady closest to it at the front bent down and picked it up. lol. Yeh, we are all very keen to get married =p

Dear Chibi,
Yesterday the cofa group met up at Bonta Vita for dinner to celebrate Somp’s 22nd birthday :) It feels like I haven’t seen some of these guys in ages, like Somps, Flora and Burpy. Somps is pretty much the same, Burpy well…never changes, but woah, Flora looked so different! It must be the frames.. and the hair.. and the clothes.. lol, doesn’t that mean everything? XD
Anyways, on the same (extremely hot) day, I had a rather big lunch at the Australian Hotel with my workmates so I was still a bit full.. but then a little hungry? I couldn’t figure out if I was full or hungry ^^; My stomach just felt weiiirdd (passing hunger stage?)… anyhows… after some waiting for some late comers, we decided to just go inside and start to order some food. I’ve never been here before, and since the menu didn’t have pictures either, I just went for the next best lazy option: Get Jacky to choose. XD I don’t remember what the food was exactly called but it was some rice dish. Marcus had the same dish, except with chilli. Well..the dish was okay.. wasn’t really really yummy, but it’s alright. I just shared with Jacky 2 dishes and had a little bit of each. M12 on the other hand (who was dying from the chilli) was perhaps a bit obvious that he didn’t enjoy his meal very much. Then one of the guys from the restaurant (the boss? the manager?) came over to see if he could make him happy again. He was very polite about it, offering to give him another dish. I think M12 was a bit shy, or embarrassed that he got their attention, so kindly declined his offers. Then the guy said “I’ll give you a free gelato” and walked off.
Wow, free icecream! When the icecream came along, I was tempted to eat it ^^ and err.. I stole it from him the moment it was placed at his table and grabbed a scoop! Very nice tiramisu <3 Then I shared it around for a bit to let everyone try. It did end up back at M12s though! Funny thing was, the boss/manager guy came the second time around and gave me another scoop of ice cream! He said this was for me, so I don’t have to take M12′s one. I was very amused by all this. How kind! =)
Afterwards, Somps and her HS friends when to have some drinks (to get them into the mood for K) – while most of the other guys left. Only Burpy, Jacky and I decided to stay for the K, but then Ray and M12 came back momentarily to have a chat etc before heading off again. We went to Big Echo for 2 hours, and it was alright, the room was a little hot though! It was a good evening overall, the trains were a bit sucky when we were going home, but no point complaining now cause I’m already home XD Though..it’s hot again today!! arrrghh!!
So, I shall leave it at this. I don’t have any pics to show cause I didn’t have my camera since Kaz took it. There were some things to see at Belmore park to celebrate Chinese New Year. Okies, shall sign off now.
Bye!

Dear Chibi,
Just realised today marks [Fairy and Swordsman]‘s 3rd year anniversary. aww :3
I really should give it a new layout sometime too.
I really want to make a new fansite too, except I have no topics in mind that I’m really passionate about. I feel like I haven’t built a website in quite sometime, I’m kinda mising it. It’s different making it for a living, my true passion lies in making my own stuff that’s mine in the end. hmmm.. it’s 12pm now..I better eat some breakfast! XD

Dear Chibi,
I’ve been wondering lately about the new year, and what I should be expecting and things like that. I don’t really know what to think.. I was a little lost trying to come up with new year resolutions in my previous post. From primary school, to high school, things were set down for us. We didn’t question it, we just went with the flow and did what everyone “should” do. I didn’t mind it. I quite liked the lack of choice. Maybe it’s just easier since I didn’t have to make my own decisions. Then came Uni which was my first sign of “freedom”. It’s also then that I realised we are growing up and will have to take responsibility for all our choices and actions. So… Uni also came and went and during that time I stumbled into the work force. It was just natural for me to move from a part-time job into a full time position in my field. It’s been about half a year, and I’ve settled in and all. Now what? What happens from here onwards? Surely there will be challenges and things to learn.. but isn’t that the same for the rest of my life? If something “significant” was to happen in 2009, what would it be? In 2008- I officially graduated with a B. Digital Media, turned 21, got Green Ps, Got my first Full-time position. What milestone in 2009 will be something to really remember?
I’m curious :)

Dear Chibi,
Since last year’s resolution got completely ignored because Jen was distracted/lost interest, I think it’s time to set a few different resolutions. Not that they always get done, but I remember there was a year where I completed everything and it felt like a good achievement :) I might add more to this list as they come up..but for now:
- Lose a few kgs and stay consistent
- Eat more greens!
- Walk wherever possible
- Drink more water whenever possible
On a completely random note… Markos and I replayed Donkey Kong Country and got 101% completion! yay XD We have always wanted to do this again *_*

So proud, I know… just lemme be XD
