  • Mz’s 22nd- Laser Skirmish + Bowling!

    October 25th, 2008

    Dear Chibi,

Today we celebrated MZ’s 22nd birthday with a game of laser skirmish and bowling @ Villawood! The laser skirmish was really exciting. It was my first time experiencing it and I must say it was really fun =D You get to run around in a dark room with guns 8D. Too bad it was very short.. felt like 5 minutes, lol. I did shoot a few people, but then I got shot so much more that my score ended back at 0…hahah.. sad. Some of the guys missed out on this one since they arrived late (they live across the other side of the world). We had some light snacks while waiting for the others for bowling. It’s a shame I’m still recovering from the cold so I wasn’t able to eat much of those fatty and unhealthy food XD But I was on my best behaviour and wasn’t tempted by them. =)

Then of course, came bowling- my FAVORITE game.

I mean look at us! Our teams are awesome… we all got strikes in the 3rd and 4th rounds!!

    no_strikes.jpg

not. XD What sometimes happens is that the scores go a bit funny…yes, the score system stuffed up and no matter what you got, it would say you got a strike (except Floz, who actually got a strike got “missed” XD) It was very very amusing but I really suck at it.

Oh no.. it’s going down the gutter again!

After bowling we stayed around for a little bit for some arcade games before heading off the MZ’s place. Jacky and I stayed till about 6.30pm and left for his Grandpa’s bday dinner! Very yummy yummy food..mmm.. XD

Thoroughly enjoyed the day =) Happy 22nd Birthday MZ! Thanks for organising it and generously paying for it all (you didn’t have to!)

    Truth reveals itself?

    October 22nd, 2008

    Dear Chibi,

In most TV series/drama, the ‘truth’ seems to come out at one point of the story or another, and I wondered if it’s the case in real life. Do you think nothing can be hidden? Will all ‘truth’ be revealed? Do walls really have ears? Aren’t there many times when you thought something was strange, but you just never find out exactly where that thought came from? Two incidents occurred recently which may me wonder.

I mentioned one in this post:

Firstly, Mum’s ring went missing after I (randomly) put it on my finger. Why did I do that? It was sitting on the desk and I just happened to be there so I just did. After I tried it on, I took it off and put it back there. It was NO WHERE to be found…

This occurred during my Korea trip 2 years ago, where I lost my mum’s ring. We searched and searched like no tomorrow… and we couldn’t find it. Who would have thought only a few days ago my Mum would find it in her handbag which she never used for the last two years. err..yay? XD

Another case is a little harder to grasp- the only person who realised this- was me, and there’s no one else who could prove what I’m saying is true- because only I remember thinking this. I’ll share anyways since it can’t hurt telling XD. Back when I was in primary school, when I watched My Neighbour Totoro, the soundtrack from the movie sounded awfully awfully familiar to me (To be precise, it was this sound track). The moment I heard it, it was ringing bells. I tried to explain to both Mark and Kaz back then that I’ve heard this soundtrack before- but they claim they haven’t heard of it. I was left there trying to think really really hard where I have heard this before… but I couldn’t. Overtime, I just assumed I was imagining things, since it was the first time I watched the movie. Mark and Kaz don’t even remember this, and I don’t blame them because I was the one in agony XD (You know it happens when something bugs you and you don’t know what)

So..just the other day when I was having dinner, there was a very old HK drama showing on TV- and ye…. you’ve guessed it. THEY USED TOTORO SOUNDTRACK!!!!!!!!! OMG! Plagiarism!!! AND OMG, ITS POSSIBLE I DID WATCH THIS SERIES BEFORE SEEING TOTORO!!! XD Now I can live in peace, lol.

I know this may all sound so silly and unimportant, but I still get some satisfaction just by knowing. And the fact it has been soooooooooooo many years since that time- and the truth is revealed- is it all a coincidence?

    Goodbye Starbook.

    October 20th, 2008

    Dear Chibi,

3 months ago, Kaz, Markos and I added the facebook application- “Star Book” a interactive online strategy game of Starcraft. The game was very exciting and we have been playing it everyday since. Starbook was the reason I even came onto Facebook- facebook itself was not always so exciting. Later on, Kat also joined us in playing the game, and had lots of fun attacking and looting off other empires.

Recently, we’ve been thinking about the future of starbook- can we really play this forever? We have to constantly check back every hour to use up allocated resources and to continuously monitor our empire and game. It’s an endless cycle and no one can really “win” since there’s no end or a finish line.
However, the decision to delete the application came upon us yesterday while Markos and I were doing the dishes. We’ve put in a lot of time and effort into it and it’s starting to become a bit unhealthy. We knew right from the beginning this time would eventually come, (as with earth2025)- and perhaps it was time to let go.

I guess there was never a better time to end the game than now, when we’ve reached the highest ranking we’ve achieved in the past 3 months. There were some crazy wars going on, and I guess we got our ‘revenge’ in the end :) The Chibi Empire got into the top ladder for 4th largest Terran Empire, yay. Kazzy was ranked #15 (top 2%) strongest empire out of the 600+ others.

Good bye to the awesome KAZ alliance, Death Soldier (zerg), Chibi (terran), Martoss (protoss) and Cold Water (terran).

I admit, it’s going to take some time to break out of the starbook habits- but with the application removed, the empire destroyed, there’s nothing left for us to hang onto. SO here’s the blog entry dedicated to the 3 months on the game. At the end of the day… that’s the only thing we can take with us =)

    Chibi Land on youtube..?

    October 11th, 2008

    Dear Chibi,

    Someone sent me a link to a youtube clip they found and wow.. a person actually recorded themselves drawing a chibi Sailor Moon, following a tutorial I made on Chibi Land! ^^;

Part 1 (A bit long…) Part 2 (You can see the site here)

A bit strange that she doesn’t know the character is Sailor Moon, but oh wells XD It’s still amusing nevertheless, heheee.

    I was so depressed…

    October 11th, 2008

    Dear Chibi,

Usually around this time of the year, I’d dig through my Blog Archive and see what I was up to the previous year and how I felt about things. I was so depressed back then. I clicked on ‘October’ and found that all of them expressed disappointment, anxiety and depression. aw.. I feel so bad for her >.>;; I mean, here I am reading about this girl who thinks her life is doomed and it wasn’t just some words of exaggeration- she meant it, and really did believe what she said. It’s those feelings I wouldn’t want to return to again, and I must say that’s what I like about working as oppose to studying- no more assignments/exams- less stress (hopefully).

A few days ago I passed my 3 months probation period =) I’m really enjoying it there and will continue to work hard. I’ve also done a drawing lately which I was rather proud of- hopefully I’ll motivate myself enough to draw some more.

Wow, October already, it’s only about 2 months before Christmas again! Hoping for some fun times ahead.

    Kazzy’s Graduation

    October 10th, 2008

    kazgrad.jpg

    Dear Chibi,

wheeeee… now all of 3 of us has graduated! =D Kazzy’s graduation took place yesterday, and boy did it remind me of my graduation XD I helped take lots and lots of pictures, and the scary thing was, when I looked back at some of the photos, I thought Kerry was me ^^;; Do we look alike or not?? haha.. I can’t make up my mind. Sometimes I think we look really different, but then theres just some..angles… that has striking resemblance.  Everyone thinks we’re identical twins, but we’re not and t’is a fact.

The day turned out pretty well, the weather was nice and many people came to celebrate with her ^_^ In no time it looked like Kazzy had a farm or something (with lack of better word for a place where bears are kept XD)

I mean, really, check out this picture:

    toys.jpg

    Oh no, my bear is covered ;_;

XD As we approached the evening, Kat joined us and the whole family went in to attend the ceremony. Surprisingly, Kazzy got called up on stage pretty early on, which only meant the remaining 2 hrs or so felt even longer. I was bored to tears..hahaa.. and Kat was commenting on everyones’s heals on stage. Mum would be commenting everytime a ‘Jennifer’ or ‘Mark’ got called up on stage, and Dad would always be asking ‘Are those Doctors?’ XD

After the ceremony, we had some refreshments, took portrait photos, had dinner and headed home. ahh..very long day.. by the end of it I felt like I was dead- but then it’s the reason for my extremely good sleep last night ^_^

    dun dun dun dun

    October 6th, 2008

    Dear Chibi,

After many moons, we finally had an outing with the HS group. It was organised the last minute, but since so many of us showed up it worked out quite well! We had dinner at Navigator Brasserie at Rhodes Shopping Centre, and then headed off to Max Brenner at Parra for Dessert. Too bad Mal couldn’t make it… but we all thought about her during the night! You’re with us in spirit XD What also felt different about this dinner was that Sooooj actually came! Now that’s just…amazing..considering I haven’t even hung out with her since… High School..about 4 years ago..lol. We even live in the same suburb but for some odd odd reason, every time we have a group outing, she never turns up and due to religious reasons she can’t attend any birthday parties. There was an occasion where she did turn up, but I couldn’t make it. And there you have it… 4 years gone by! Nevertheless, none of us really changed that much since HS; the noticeable difference is that now half of us have partners. It’s also interesting knowing where everyone is heading in life, what career path we’re all pursuing and all.. half of us are in the workforce, other half still studying- no wonder it’s hard to organise a day/time to suit all of us too XD

    mghsgroup.jpg

It was only two days ago that we had a “Uni Outing” celebrating Flora’s 22nd Birthday. It was also about 3 months since we caught up too. It’s just difficult to always meet up when everyones busy doing different things- Birthdays are usually a good excuse for everyone to show up, though XD ehehee…

Anyways, yay- today is Labour Day, my first real public holiday since working Full time! Gonna relax and enjoy it. Baibai!
