  • desperate. actively seeking a female! (with a good voice..that is..)

    August 31st, 2007

    Dear Chibi,

I’ve been holding auditions in search for a female vocalist for my animation, and yet to find one! It’s quite tough actually.. it’s probably because the song itself is a bit difficult to sing to, or something.. it’s just gotta be something.. I’m not being picky! XD I’ve heard about 9 auditions so far and some were just..scary.. some couldn’t keep up with the speed, most couldn’t handle the pitches and just generally didn’t click for me. I don’t consider myself a great singer… and it seems I’m getting ones who are worse than me ;_; It is a hard song though.. so I appreciate them auditioning and sending them in :) I’ll just have to keep searching! Are you who I’m looking for? Please help spread the word! Chibi is getting a little desperate.

It was a lovely warm weather today and a little windy too! What instantly came to mind when I felt the wind? Stare at everything moving! I wanted to capture the moment, so I kinda did.. and then realised how stalkerish I seemed. gah. I was recording a lady’s dress blowing in the wind- but it’s not what it sounds! XP The skirt was up to ankle length and just moving with the breeze. After showing my sis what I recorded, I accidentally deleted it too T_T nooo.. I was going to use it as a reference point for my animation! I guess I still felt somewhat stalkerish recording that…so that must have been why I deleted it without thinking.

I’ll probably need to go out on a windy day and stare at people’s skirts again >.> It’s so hard to animate!

    Wish me luck ;p

    no wait?

    August 28th, 2007

    Dear Chibi,

Not exactly useful in terms of feedback, but I guess that’s all I can do now anyway… “DRAW LOTS”- is what my tutor told me. Yes, I tell myself that too. I travel all the way to Uni to hear that, and that only- for my consultation..which lasted about 1 minute. Oh well.. I didn’t wait very long for it since I arrived 30 minutes late (unintentionally) and then kinda waved my arm around to get the tutor’s attention after he spoke to M12. That was a bit dull so I went to visit Somps in the room opposite, to find Phil walking in. What do you know…? Phil spoke to me too, despite not being in his class lol.. After seeing Somps, he asked if I wanted to speak to him, and I figured ‘why-not?’ So I got double feedback today… guess what he told me? “Don’t sleep, and draw lots!!!!”

er..heh… well, at least I know exactly what I should be doing at this point…no sleep and more drawing. I’m so behind schedule T.T The presentation will be next week, it’ll be good to see everyone’s stuff.. but I’m dreading the week after that when I have to present.

For the past few days I’ve lost a lot of motivation to draw, with lots of procrastinating. Procrastination is evol o_o T’is a demon! Or just more excuses from Jen’s head not to work. Too many excuses to cover up lack of actual work…

While I was waiting on my platform @ Central to go home, I spotted Flora who was just behind me not too far away. She doesn’t usually catch the Hornsby train but she did today so I thought I’d catch the train with her and both get some company ^_^ My actual train was due in 2 minutes but I decided to anyway. The train was packed, but we both managed to sit together on a two seater. Then when the train was approaching Burwood, I noticed the train moving next to us which read “CAMPBELLTOWN via STRATHFIELD” o_O That was the train I was suppose to catch! All was good though..since our train moved away from Burwood just a little quicker than that train. When the train arrived in Strathfield, I hopped off, ran to the other platform and managed to catch my ORIGINAL Campbelltown train!

Yay. I was very pleased. =p All these events seem to be pointing in one direction ——-> maybe my luck is just returning.

    sleep time.

    August 23rd, 2007

    Dear Chibi,

Last night is a record for me this year, sleeping at 4am and waking up at 9am. I need to do this more often cause it’s so fun….lol…not. My head has been thumping all day so I need to sleep, though like they say… you can never catch up on the sleep you lost.

    Well, better than nothing!

    Let’s SMASH!

    August 19th, 2007

    Dear Chibi,

SMASH was good, and went beyond my expectation. I think they did a pretty good job on this event and the roundhouse was filled! Go promos. Today I dressed in EGL (Elegant Gothic Lolita) style and Kaz cosplayed as Tifa- that was fun =) Jacky, Kaz, Mark and I went around checking out the cosplays, stalls, the artist alley, panel, games but actually started the day with “Anime Dating game”. It had a funny concept, but the questions went on for a bit too long and I lost interest. A male cross-dressing as Tomoyo was a bit too much for me ^^; There’s more to it but some things are best left unsaid.
I thought “Cosplay Chess” was one highlight of the day..it was so amusing!! I can’t believe only Tifa (Kaz), the pawn was left with Pegasus (King).. that was hilarious. I thought there was a lot of interaction between the audience, chess pieces (the cosplayers) and the chess players. Good stuff… still can’t believe they lost though. During this event I missed out on “Iron Artist” which happened on the same time…oh wells.
The “Barrel Game” was a little depressing…lol…missed a chance at obtaining the barrel (lost in the game of rock, scissors, paper XD) During the day we bumped into Newway and Alex, M12-Emily-Meeko, Peggy, Cabbage, Kabuki, Blox, a bunch of UNSW Anime Club members, Mark’s friends and Kazzy’s friends (did I miss anyone?) It was good to see them ^_^

We saw the Ouran Host Club, but didn’t really go in and sit down… the Maid Cafe had a maid, which was alright..there may have been more earlier on…I hope. We went out of kenso and had lunch at a Noodle House and got some hot stuff to eat. When we came back it was time for some entertainment at the main stage with the live dubbing, the skits and various games. I think the MCs were really good here.. much more entertaining than ones at Animania (who didnt seem to have much clue of anime)… these guys were funny and very good with improvisation- at least I was entertained.

The artist alley had some original work, some yaoi and some fanart. Some were impressive but I’m not sure if I got inspired or not. I went to SMASH intending to learn a few things at the panels, but wasn’t actually in the mood on the day. My my.. was that expected? =p

Now onto the Cosplay Competition! There were quite a lot of cosplayers, but the most popular this year had to be DEATH NOTE. A lot of Death Note appeared on stage and I’m not surprised considering its pretty popular.. Death Note was also screened during the day. There were quite a few anime I wasn’t familiar with but the costumes were nice to look at nevertheless. So glad Peggy end up cosplaying as Lulu again.. she was so cool >_< Ones from Final Fantasy this year were Songstress Yuna and Lenne and FFX Rikku.

I probably forgot to mention some things since I’m a bit sleepy at the moment. Overall.. I think this can be a substitute for Animania. It has more events, is a lot cheaper and the fandom is still there. I think people who didn’t go to SMASH this year should consider it next year anyway :)

Afterwards we headed home for dinner and watched 2 movies before Jacky left. ah.. need to sleep and be refreshed for some hard work tomorrow!

    I’m not a spambot..I think

    August 17th, 2007

    Dear Chibi,

This hasn’t been the first time I came across this problem, so I decided to just..write about it (not really a rant.. I think..). Time to time I register at new forums, and the process should be all good and well… until I see things like THIS:

    spam filters.jpg

It asks me to type in what I see in the images, to prove I’m not some spambot and a genuine real person. Now…maybe I’m a bit dumb and just can’t identify letters/numbers.. I type in what I see, and it comes up with an error.. that’s just 3 examples of ones I saw and got wrong. I did about.. 6 of them to finally get it correct. Why are they supposing humans are so intelligent that they can tell what are random scribbles and what is actually suppose to be something? X_X Looks like I’m as dumb as spambots then, aye?

    identified..?

    Dear Chibi,

I just got home from a late Chinese beginners class and feeling sleepy and tired @_@ After the lecture while Kaz and I were heading to class, a boy with sunnies approached us.

“Sorry, I have a very urging question, are you two twins?”

    Er, yeah we are.

    “I thought you looked familiar”

Err.. are we suppose to know you?

‘Did you go to Auburn Public School?”

    uhhhm…how did you know?

”So it is you guys! I was in your class” *takes off sunnies*

    Errmm.. no….? I don’t remember you at all…

“Yeh, I was with you guys and a girl named Bernice. We had an assignment on “Bernice the blue bottle”

Wait..you know Bernice…how come you don’t sound familiar at all?  What’s your name?

    “Paul”

    Nope..I don’t remember any Pauls..

There weren’t many asians in our grade either..
“Yeh, we sat together in class, I remember you two being together”

But..we were never in the same class.

    “I just remember you’re twins”

    er..hehe….errr….. wow, this is random.

And so in the end… we came to the conclusion that we went to primary school together till about year 4 before he changed school. He must have left a HUGE impression on me, so much that I remember him existing ^^;;;; *cough*

I received an email this morning. It reminded me of something important..yet something I had not realised until now. I have to keep going, not only for myself.. but for everyone who had hopes for me, who believe I can do it.

I will do it for you.
