How dare someone say “YUCK!!” about my animation project. How very very rude and inconsiderate. I am really pissed off by this comment. If you have nothing better to say than don’t say anything at all. I was quite happy with my achievement of 5 frames today within 4 hours- I actually liked what I made for once.. and you come along and ruin it all.

Thank you very much for ruining my motivation.

    personal touch.

    Beginning of Chinese Beginners

    July 26th, 2007

    Dear Chibi,

I knew it was going to be useless, but you’re never 100% certain until you’ve been through it, and so I did just to confirm it WAS useless. I don’t like my timetable for this semester at all. The reason is that all classes except Friday start in the afternoon/evening, which mucks up my usual work pattern. When I know I have to go to Uni later in the day, I just can’t get into the whole working mood since I know it’ll be interrupted. And it did.

Today I only had Chinese Beginners Gen Ed from 4-5pm.. Does something not look wrong? Since it’s the first week, there are no tutorials and only the 1 hour lecture. However, since it was the first week- the lecture ended half an hour earlier. I traveled all the way Kensington for a useless talk, and wasted 3.5 additional hours. It’s a good thing Kaz got sick and skipped that.

The lecturer looked really dopey… and spoke so…slo…w…l…y……

    End of Nana

    July 25th, 2007

    Dear Chibi,

I just finished the final episode of NANA “season 1″ (episode 47) and I would have to agree with Somps.. it was quite disappointing and didn’t have any sense of closure. hahah..I’m kinda annoyed with the loose ends..after watching that many episodes, what happened that I didn’t know was going to happen? XD Like Inuyasha, the manga is still ongoing (beyond anime)… though I don’t think I’ll read it. With some luck, season 2 of the animation might be made. Never know.

Well, it’s a good thing I finished the series- one less distraction and more time to focus on work. I’m going to force myself to finish my Gen Ed assignment tonight *fingers crossed*

Pick up the pace Jen, pick up!

    Beginning of the end

    July 24th, 2007

    Dear Chibi,

Today I began my first day of Uni of my final semester. I feel the old process again, the daily training and busing routine. Right now I’m having mixed feelings. I’m not sure if I’m liking or disliking it.

    Subjects this semester:

    Professional Portfolio
    Digital Composite 3
    Advanced Analogue & Digital Animation
    Chinese Beginners B (General Education)

This will probably be one of my busiest 14 weeks. There’s a lot I need to get through, but I hope I’ll be able to handle it all. I also hope that my blog entries aren’t getting more depressing every time. Sometimes it’s a little dangerous blogging especially when I’m in some kind of depression or whatever. I write things without thinking about my audience and end up writing things others shouldn’t know about.

Today in Professional Portfolio tutorial, the class was split into two groups, group A and B. All my friends are in Group A, and I was placed in Group B. The others suggested that I changed to Group A, but at that point- I didn’t know what I wanted. It’s probably not a big deal, that’s what I thought initially. I was use to being alone in classes from previous experiences. Suddenly it occurred to me that I may be alone. It kinda surprised me when I thought about it. Why would anyone want to be alone? That doesn’t really make sense…since I use to complain all the time when I wasn’t in the same class as the others. Deciding to stay in this group means I’ve accepted being alone- meaning I shouldn’t complain about it. I thought hard. Am I that scared? What am I scared of anyway? Being alone? Others seeing my work? I don’t know.

The fact a decision this small and insignificant made me think so much is a worry.

Song for the day: Olivia inspi’ REIRA (Trapnest) – Wish (8.72mb)
I love how much this song conveys.

    Raymond’s 20th Bday

    July 23rd, 2007

    Dear Chibi,

I just came back from the pub after celebrating Ray’s 20th Birthday Dinner at Cafe de Macau. How exciting, finally our youngest member in our group has turned 20! He’s a big big boy now… well, I keep telling him anyway ^_^ Dinner was very pleasant and I’m glad he got a cake this year (for us)! It felt nice to know I’ve celebrated his birthday with him for the 3 years since I’ve met/known him. Hope he had a wonderful birthday, and enjoyed his first real drink! ^^ Don’t get addicted!! hehee.. damn, he kinda beat me to it, hahaa. Like his first party, he also invited his High School mates, quite a few faces I’ve seen before. The COFA guys also attended (for obvious reasons) and we had a good time. Thanks for the dinner Ray!

    Ahh..getting late..need..sleep.

    facebook vs myspace

    July 22nd, 2007

    Dear Chibi,

What do I have in common with both? I’m not registered as a member in either. Why though? Facebook and myspace are ‘the biggest online networks’, connecting “friends”. Most of my friends from different groups have either joined one or the other. My siblings, my high school friends, mono friends and workmates use Facebook, whereas my COFA friends use myspace. I’d say Facebook is a lot more appealing in terms of its functions and interface. It think it has mainly got to do with uploading photos and being able to ‘label’ people. I’ve been getting so many invites from people to join Facebook, and heck, many think I actually have an account- since Kaz uses it.

I’ve seen Kaz play around with Facebook, you have some form of currency and buy your friends fishes to put in their fishtanks etc, lol.. that’s pretty cute. You can also graffiti on your friend’s “wall”- by drawing pictures.
My main concern about joining Facebook is that it’s pretty stalkerish.. You have friends of friends of friends adding you, and at the end you find out every person knows every person and how you’re all related. You may find that a good thing, but I certainly don’t, lol. It reminds me of the 6 degrees of separation concept. It soon becomes this obsessive habit of adding more and more friends into your network, even those you may not know so well. When a friend of a friend of a friend requests to add you as a friend, do you accept it too? What if you don’t? They know who you are! Moreover, people may have photos of you from parties posted on their account..and you’ll have to add them as a friend before you can view random pics of you posted on the net. Freaky, aye?
Myspace on the other hand… doesn’t really appeal to me. There’s standard functions, so a little ordinary. I don’t like the skins/templates of the pages.. I haven’t seen many good designs.

So there you have it, my opinion of Facebook and myspace.

    Alan’s 22nd Birthday

    July 21st, 2007

    Dear Chibi,

My siblings and I were invited to Alan’s place to celebrate his 22nd Birthday as well as ‘house warming’. I was wondering for a while whether I should go or not, since I’m pretty busy and I don’t really know him that well.. But yes, I did end up going since it was an invite- and if he bothered to ask me to come, I guess I should show some appreciation. So we went there, met his cute puppy dog which I wasn’t scared of AT ALL. A miracle! XD Meatball was kinda fat, but very fluffy and cute ^^; I guess I’m not scared of all dogs… it’s rather strange though since I’ve seen smaller, cuter dogs before and would freak out totally. This one has a very special aura.

Around 6-7ish, someone brought along their (tiny) Mahjong so no guesses as to what I did then. Markos, Kaz, Harold and I only managed to play up to the 2nd wind..well, cause Kaz kept ’self’ winning..damn! That leaves me in second place again. Oh wells.. Harold didn’t win any games, and I still got more than Markos.

After that we saw James perform some magic card tricks, but they didn’t amuse me very much since I’ve already seen Brian do it before XP. One trick at the end was quite good though.. 2 people signed their names on two separate random cards, and somehow after placing the two on top of each other, and covering it with a hand, they got stuck together side by side o___o like..perfectly. It seems it became one card. Not quite sure if they became one card or if two are stuck together.

After that a few people did speeches on Alan, followed by the cake. We end up seeing more familiar faces than expected, most were ex-mono teachers. I’ll be seeing a few of them tomorrow at the Mono Parent-teacher interview.
