    A Christmas to Remember

    December 25th, 2006

    Dear Chibi,
I reallllly want to say a HUGE Thank You to all those people who sent me Cards, e-cards, emails, SMSs with those very warm wishes =D Totally made my day. I spent a lot of quality time with my Family as well ^_^ Today also happened to be my cute Great Granny’s 104th Bday, so we went out for dinner with all our relatives to celebrate.

Hope everyone else had a fab time! Here’s my X-mas tree ^^ It was changed two years ago- this one is taller than me, oh no XD

    Put to a test

    December 24th, 2006

    Dear Chibi,
I was reluctantly put into a position where I was forced to speak a language which I’m not at all confident in- Mandarin (I’m Cantonese). I received a phone call who was asking for my parents, who weren’t exactly at home. I couldn’t ask her to call back later due to the circumstance so I went on speaking in Mandarin.  Oh my goodness, it felt really weird..it was like I was learning to speak! It made me realise that language which you never speak could deteriorate. I never really liked Mandarin when I learnt it in Chinese School many years back- so obviously I never spoke it. When you don’t speak it, you really end up not knowing how to when you need to. There were countless cases where people spoke to me in Mandarin, and I’d simply tell them I can’t understand it (Which is kinda a lie cause I probably could if I tried)

Moral of the story: Don’t be afraid to speak in a language other than your first language.

On another note, I have a new student, yay. I had my first lesson with her today, this one is chubby and cute. hehee.

    Happy Holidays

    December 23rd, 2006

    Dear Readers,

Just wanted to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR! Can’t believe I’ve been blogging for over 6 months already, time just flies when… well, it just does! haha. Hope you’ve got your pretty Xmas trees all up, lights flashing by your windows, bells ringing and christmas carols playing in the background- now..if only there was snow ^_^; I still got a dose of that this month so I’m all good. To those who don’t celebrate Christmas at all, Happy Holidays ^_^

I was just listening to Janice’s ‘The Christmas Tunes‘, which was a whole bunch of Xmas songs put together, and one that catches my attention was ‘Last Christmas Lyrics‘. I’ve heard this song sung by many artists, but thought is it really appropriate as an Xmas song. It mentions ‘Christmas’ in its lyrics, but the song isn’t at all related to it. ^^; Oh wells, I like this song anyway, hehee.

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, You gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I’ll give it to someone special

Last Christmas, I gave you my heart
But the very next day, You gave it away
This year, to save me from tears
I’ll give it to someone special

    Once bitten and twice shy
I keep my distance but you still catch my eye
Tell me baby do you recognise me?
Well it’s been a year, it doesn’t surprise me

(Happy Christmas!) I wrapped it up and sent it
With a note saying “I Love You” I meant it
Now I know what a fool I’ve been
But if you kissed me now I know you’d fool me again

    etc etc =p

    Final lesson

    December 12th, 2006

    Dear Chibi,
This year has gone by pretty quickly, and my Year 11s have already reached end of Term 1 of Year 12! They were a pretty good class, better than the previous year. hehe…it was fun having them as my class. All I can do now is wish them the best for their final year, just to realise next year will also be my last in Uni. We get a two week ‘holiday’ before the start of a New Year, a new bunch of Year 11s for 2007.

    *

Today I started watching Ouran High School Host Club, wheeee…! First heard about this anime at Animania earlier on the year, when a group cosplayed the characters. It seemed pretty interesting so I gave it a shot. How can anyone NOT like Honey and his stuffed bunny who blushes? XD The Twin brothers act so gay, that you can’t help but find them so..amusing~ lol. I mean really, the lines they always come up with are so funny! It makes you just go “arrrhhhh” hahahaa..

    Dear Chibi,
Have I ever mentioned how I love this song? I saw the MV of it a while back but I finally found the mp3 of it! Go go download ^^ She has a lovely voice! Yes, I’m anticipating NANA2.
On another note… Long Live Yuu Watase XD I simply love her work! Markos bought me Vol 2 of Zettai Kareshi, I’m so happy it’s finally out. Now I’m gonna have to wait patiently for the next volume… lol

    felt like months!

    December 9th, 2006

No, it wasn’t boring, trust me.

    korean.jpg

    Dear Chibi,

Long time no see! hehee..well actually it has only been roughly 2 weeks, but I feel like I was on a holiday for ages! haha. Well, after 8 hours on the plane, I’m back- in one piece (ignore the aching neck and broken bones) Boy, I’ve caught the plane 6 times in 2 weeks!
Australia –> HK —> South Korea (Seoul) —> South Korea (Jeju) —> South Korea (Seoul) —> HK —> Home Sweet Home! lol.

Plane rides are a bit too lengthy- I was happily playing Mah Jong against the computers, winning 8/8 rounds- and then they HAD to just die..and leave me nothing to do except watch TV (which wasn’t too bad, but I want to play Mah Jong- I was winning! :p)

During the first plane ride to HK, I realised:
    1) I can’t unscramble words
    2) I know nothing about music. history. geography. sport. Trivia totally killed me. XD

“How many players in a BasketBall Team?” < -- o.o?

LOL…I have no clue!! Don’t kill me.

Now, I should keep this short since I don’t wanna bore you to tears about how much fun it was for me (while you were at home =p)- BUT, lemme just..say some stuff. yeh? thanks ^_^ Okies, lemme continue typing.

Some weird (and annoying) stuff happened during the second day in HK…

Firstly, Mum’s ring went missing after I (randomly) put it on my finger. Why did I do that? It was sitting on the desk and I just happened to be there so I just did. After I tried it on, I took it off and put it back there. It was NO WHERE to be found…

Next, outside on the streets of HK; a Taxi driver literally tried to run us over without hesitation. We stood on the path since a taxi was driving through. He stopped there, indicated to us to walk across- and guess what? The moment we stepped on the road, he drove straight ahead! baka. People were hit by it, and he continued driving. I dodged it, it slightly hit Kaz on the leg. Good thing we had a somewhat fast reaction.

Thirdly, within 10 minutes of walking, Dad’s wallet was pinched.

Did you enjoy those stories? =p I told you I wouldnt just brag about how good my trip was. Oh, and these stories are true by the way, incase you were having doubts.

Time for quick stuff about South Korea =D
    1) FREEZING. I thought the Snow Trip earlier in the year was cold..this was MINUS 5 degrees!! It even started snowing time to time. (pretty factor)
    2) BEAUTIFUL. South Korea looked really nice. Its also very clean.
    3) EXPENSIVE. I bought a cup of instant noodles for 800 WON. Currency was confusing. Stuff in Korea was very expensive; Dad happened to have bought a jacket in HK for 300 HKD, he saw the exact same jacket in Korea for what was worth equivalent to 1000 HKD. *cough*

oh oh, I gotta add that Sunny (one of the Tour guys) look and behave soooo much like Herbert!! So much similarities I keep thinking he’s Herbert instead. XD He was one funny man.
I have so much more to say, but i guess I’ll leave the rest for me to actually say, hehee. Some photos to share:

    Is a kangaroo sitting on my head really necessary…? I did say it was freezing ^^;
